Fire Strikes John Michael Talbot's Little Portion Hermitage

"April 29, 2008

Berryville, Arkansas

At approximately 12:00am today fire struck at Little Portion Hermitage in Arkansas' Ozark Mountains. The fire began in the Charity Chapel, the main worship space for this Catholic religous community. The fire spread quickly through a covered walkway to the Common Center, a building housing the main dining and meeting rooms, offices and library. Both structures are a total loss."

Barna: "New Research Describes Use of Technology in Churches"

"Protestant churches across the nation are using various forms of emerging technology to influence people’s lives and enliven their church experience. But the pace of technology adoption seems to have slowed in the past two years as some churches focus upon making the most of what they already have, and other churches attempt to get by without incorporating such tools into their ministry mix."

The Barna Group has just released a report on how churches are deploying technology as they execute their mission.

it is unfortunate timing that...

...i've gotten so busy just after switching (back) to blogger, but I'm insanely busy. Hope to re-engage soon.

Todd Hunter's Forthcoming Book

"In his upcoming book Todd Hunter (aka Todd) will bring forth an alternative perspective in which church returns to the idea of being church (aka people based). He will present an approach that does not require a building, does not require a Christian worship band, does not require even a house to meet in, not even a 501 non-profit tax exemption certificate from Uncle Sam so that tithes can be written off of your taxes at the end of the year.

He calls this approach 3 is enough"

Randy Green recently met with Todd and shares his thoughts on Todd's forthcoming book.
