By propositions are you referring to theology or bible study that is lifted from the text like sitting in a college classroom? If so, this is not bad, but actually necessary. Knowledge isn’t the problem, it is the lack of wisdom sought. Where are those who seek the truth and respect it? This to me is a very personal thing. Beauty can sound so romantic. It doesn’t seem beautiful to quit a bad habit or to cleanse illicit thought and fantasy.
If all truth is God’s truth, then respect is at the core of this end in mind. When a pastor from ANY church denomination does not respect the truth, or tries to make his theology fit his lifestyle (we are all guilty of this) then repentance of the truest kind is in order. Our ability or desire to obey truth is directly correlated to our faith, and our faith is directly correlated to our desire to control and manipulate. Faith frees the heart and mind to SEE.
This above statement by Chris is extremely important to ponder and reflect on.
