It doesn't help, to begin with, that Dan Brown is a BAD writer. Couple that with Ron Howard being a BAD (or at the very least "safe and mediocre") director, and you're just not going to get a very good movie out of the deal. As far as books go, I prefered "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" from which Brown seems to have borrowed much of the research he based DAVINCI CODE upon.
personally all of the media hype is making me less likely to see it than more. if brown was primarily trying to advance his theories through this work of fiction, in many instances i think it has backfired. many of the discussions being held by churches and the like may bring people more into the fold of established religion.
