On the Da Vinci Code
USA TODAY ran an article today summarizing some Catholic and Protestant efforts to rebut the Da Vinci Code.
Here are some of the efforts and sites they mention:|
- on Good Friday, Westminster Theological Seminary launched The Truth About Da Vinci site. USA TODAY notes, "The site, sponsored by Westminster Theological Seminary, one of the United States' premier Reformed centers of learning, seeks to "create doubt about doubt," says a statement quoting seminary president Peter Lillback. There will be a national advertising campaign for the site in secular and Christian media."
- davincioutreach.com - An effort by the Catholic groups Ascension Press, Catholic Exchange, and Catholic Outreach in connection with a new DVD they've produced called The Da Vinci Deception
- Opus Dei - The conservative Catholic Group has sent a letter to Sony asking them to run a disclaimer with the film. They also have a lot of information on their site attempting to correct perceived errors in the book.
- Sony itself has launched a discussion site called thedavincidialogue.com which is down this AM for some reason.
- The US Conference of Catholic Bishops have a site called Jesus Decoded.
- USA TODAY also mentions a website sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Tallassee that links to many other sites debunking The Da Vinci Code.
