Walking with Grief
Steve Taylor provides us an excerpt of some writing by George McDonald in the book Celtic Prayer:
"Do not hurry
As you walk with grief
It does not help the journey
Walk slowly
Pausing often
Do not hurry
As you walk with grief
Be gentle with the other
Who walks with grief
If it is you
Be gentle with yourself
Swiftly forgive
Walk slowly
Pausing often
Take time, be gentle
as you walk with grief"

This prayer spoke to me even though I had but a small part of it. Thank you.
Just to correct this blog, the prayer quoted was written by Andy Raine, not George Macdonald. The next prayer in the book Come Now is based on the passage from David Elginbrod by George Macdonald.
